Alison and Mark Rowley’s home in west London was again the venue for the annual meeting of the Oakley Trustees on November 12th, chaired for the first time by Russel Bailey.
The annual reports of the Secretary, Julian Wilde, and the Treasurer, Lewis Kent, were discussed and approved. These will now be sent to Companies House and to the Charity Commissioners. It was agreed that university students will again attend the Holidays in 2012 at a reduced fee.
Topics discussed included the training of Oakley leaders, the format of the yearly Oakley Conference and the uses of social networking sites and mobile telephones at and between the Holidays.
Kathy Sealy, Russel Bailey, Jon Vernazza and Lewis Kent reported on the various publications Oakley members have received in the past year and plans for 2012.
Alison Rowley who was stepping down as Vice Chair after 11 years of service was presented with a specially engraved salver. Russel Bailey, Julian Wilde and Lewis Kent were re-elected as Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
