Links

All links on the site which connect to other pages on the Oakley Holidays website are designed to open in the same browser window on your computer screen. If you wish to open a page in a different browser window, and are able to do so, you should select the link with a right click on your mouse, and then choose 'Open In New Window'.

All links to pages not on the Oakley Holidays website (other than the Search Display Results page and for downloading Adobe Acrobat Reader software) automatically open in another browser window, where your software permits. On occasions, these links can break. Links are checked regularly, but we are grateful for reports of any broken links on the site. Please use our Contact section in this event.

Optimised settings

This site has been designed and developed for optimal viewing using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or above. All pages have also been tested using Netscape Navigator. All pages include Javascript to ensure the page is still rendered correctly when it is resized using the Netscape Navigator browser.

The design has been optimised at a display resolution setting of 800 x 600 pixels. If you wish to change your display setting to to this resolution, please see our technical tips in the right hand margin on this page under Display Resolution Setting.

Fonts and colours

The site has been designed using Arial font. This is a sans serif font chosen because it presents itself simply and clearly on display monitors. If the font displayed on your monitor is different to Arial and you wish to switch to this font, please follow the instruction in the right hand margin on this page under Font Setting.

The colours chosen for the site are all 'websafe' so they should display the same on different monitors. Each of the pages adopts a different colour to ease navigation, but navigation does not depend solely on this method.

Accessibility

All images on this site are accompanied by alternative image tags (ALT tags). This provides descriptive detail for those users who opt to switch off the display of images. Where images are displayed, they are generally presented in 'thumbnail format to reduce the file size, and therefore the time required to download. It may be possible to enlarge some photographs, but these will take longer to download.

Documents displayed in Adobe Acrobat Reader

Where it is necessary to present original documents, it may also be necessary for the reader to view these using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Visitors without this software can download this from the Adobe site, using the appropriate link in the right hand margin. This approach will be avoided wherever possible to achieve increased accessibility for all visitors.

Search Engine

The website search engine is provided courtesy of Atomz. The search engine scans the website pages on a weekly basis to update its index. When you enter a search using the search engine, the results are not displayed on the Oakley Holidays website, but rather on a customised Atomz website.

Web hosting, design tools and coding

Our site is hosted by Easily.

Design and content management tools used on the site are Adobe's Dreamweaver and Fireworks, with some images modified using other software tools such as Adobe's Photoshop.

The majority of the coding on the site is in plain hypertext markup language (HTML). Some Javascript has also been included.
