12 North Eastern Oakley members met for brunch in early October at Sky Apple Cafe in Heaton, Newcastle.

The group was joined by Liz Whitehead who had returned to Newcastle University for her 2nd year of studies and Pat Keys and Kat Fellows returned to their native Newcastle after starting univeristy in Belfast and Sheffield respectively.


The group chatted about their summer activities and those who were unable to join other Oakley members in the Summer heard all about the successful Oakley party. All present were able to hear about Oakley activities planned for 2008.

After a tasty meal at the vegetarian cafe, the group enjoyed some time in Armstrong and Heaton parks, including marvelling at the famous "Shoe Tree" (pictured left)!

The winter day trip for the North East group will be to Edinburgh and is planned for Friday 4th January. Details of this will be sent to the group later in the autumn.
