| 23 members of the Oakley Holidays from the Lancashire area travelled together from Preston to Manchester for a reunion afternoon and evening on December 20th.
After a ride on the Manchester Eye next to the Cathedral (views restricted by drizzle) and time at the Continental Market (hot German sausages strongly recommended) the group went to the winter Ice Rink at the front of Manchester United's football ground . The hour's skating was hugely enjoyable and totally exhausting, with top style points going to Ed Nussey and the elegant Frankie Ball.
We then tottered along side Salford Quays to a tasty meal at Pizza Express where we were delighted to meet up with Chris Vernazza who had travelled specially from Newcastle. George Jolliffe is rumoured to have hoovered up five pizzas.
We spent the evening at the radio sketch show 'Round the Horne' at the Lowry arts centre - opinions divided about how amusing it was - before travelling back by tram to the city centre and then by train to Preston at the end of a hectic day.
The trip which was characterized by typical Oakley good humour and camaraderie gave us the chance to catch up with friends and to discuss our plans for attending the Oakley holidays in 2006.
