49. BE A CHRISTMAS DAY DRIVER

• Have you got a driving licence and a car you can use?
• Can you make some time for others outside your family on Christmas Day?
• Can you plan well in advance?

If the answer to these three questions is YES, you can be a Christmas Angel!

Oakley member JAMES COUSINS provides a taxi service for five people in High Wycombe to spend the day at St. Andrew’s Church in the town.

James collects the people individually from their homes, they are often living alone or too far away to travel to travel to relatives and takes them to the church where Christmas lunch is provided followed by a day of festive activities.

Later in the day James collects them and drives them back, ensuring they are settled back in at home.

There will be a church or old people’s centre in your town which provides a similar service and your driving skills will be welcomed.

Oakley Contact: James is very happy to give you a few tips - one of which is to have someone with you to help such as, in his case, his dad Nick.
