Making a Difference Directory

39. Train as a counsellor for Victim Support

This is best suited to those of university age or older – you will be a volunteer, giving your time to help those who have been the victims of crime

You need to be interested in effective communication and to be a good listener as well as talker

You do not need any qualifications, but the training is detailed and quite time-consuming - so you need to be ready to commit yourself to this project.

The website looks a bit serious, but the questions on volunteering are easy to follow – this will get you started

Oakley Contact: VICKY TAYLOR at Bristol University is the Oakley contact and will tell you how she became involved as a volunteer.
