37. Work for your local Talking Newspaper

Talking newspapers provide news, information and entertainment for blind or partially sighted people all over the country
Your local Blind Society will have details of how you can help – as a reader, with the recording or by finding and editing suitable material for the newspaper.
Talking Newspapers operate on a regular basis, so you will need to think how often you want to help and then offer a weekly, fortnightly or monthly commitment.
A team of half a dozen friends , perhaps from a school sixth form, would be ideal for this work – this would enable any four of them to be available on each occasion.
You will find the number for your Blind Society in the phone book and you can get more information by looking at the national website.
Oakley Contact: The Oakley contact is JULIAN WILDE who will give you more details and will put you in touch with your local Talking Newspaper organisation.
