36. Fill a Shoebox with gifts

Pack a shoebox with small gifts for a boy or girl – you choose the gender and the age - from a poor family, usually in Eastern European countries

This is an excellent project for a school class to take on in the two months before Christmas

You will find many of the items you place in the box are easy to bring from home – things for school, make-up stuff, soft toys, toiletries, clothes such as hats, scarves or gloves,

Planning what to put in and packing the box provides its own challenge

You can design your own card and covering for the box
