19. Organise an entertainment for elderly people
You can do this most easily by visiting a residential home for elderly people
A group of around 10 Oakley friends in a particular area can work well together on this idea – aim to devise a programme lasting 45 minutes.
You need a guitarist or a portable keyboard if the home does not have a piano
You need a good compere and you need to include some old style songs for community singing – Daisy, Daisy rather than Angels !
You will find the warden and staff of the home are usually pleased to be offered your entertainment
The audience may not be immediately receptive to every joke – visual humour with big costumes is sometimes better than lots of words!
Try to finish off with a cuppa and a chat to the residents
