The Easter 2004 holiday was held at Bilton Grange from Saturday, 10th. April ~ Saturday 17th April, 2004 with 65 people attending.
During
the week we enjoyed many of the traditional games played in a variety
of teams. Volleyball and podex were played between
Bananamen, Incredible Hulks, Pink Panthers and Supermen, and Euro 2004
was celebrated in our football and hockey tournament.
Most people started the day with a very
social visit to the swimming pool to enjoy the sub-tropical conditions.

Afternoon
activities ranged from aerobic exercise to vegetable sushi preparation
with many opportunities in between.
These included basketball, bowls, croquet,
cycling, face painting, hockey, various racquet sports, padder tennis,
orchestra, play-reading, and singing.
A successful pentathlon event was held
each morning, combining the grace and poise of fencing (without weapons),
the power and beauty of equestrianism (without horses), and ending the
week with the new new Olympic sport of outdoor egg-catapulting (with eggs).

Several
enjoyable special events were held including a Murder Mystery requiring
some sharp investigative skills.
Different characters were interviewed around the grounds
in an attempt to unearth the guilty party and their terrible secret!

A
range of branded merchandise was first exhibited on the Oakley catwalk
one evening, and later available for purchase
Evening entertainment included songs, sketches, and musical
performances. We also held a games evening.
A wide range of topics were discussed during the week in group discussions
and in the evenings, including a session in which we all learned something
about Fair Trade issues. Julian
Wilde spoke about his cycle
ride around Cuba, which raised approximately £5000
for various good causes including supporting the charitable aims of Oakley
Holidays.
A litter collection was organised around the grounds of Bilton Grange
school in which everyone participated.
Our charity collection was taken for three
causes suggested by party members who had personal connections with the
organisations. In total we collected £450.
The monies were shared equally between
Dentaid, Accident Support at Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridgeshire,
and the Brian House Hospice for children in Blackpool.
